Mental Health Therapist

Location: California

Compensation: DOE, range is $60-70/session

 

Independent Contractor (1099) position

Busy group practice seeks skilled and dedicated clinicians to join our mission to provide high-quality mental health services in underserved neighborhoods.  Client-centered practice provides referrals and takes care of all administrative tasks so clinicians can focus on their clinical work. This opportunity is perfect for someone who wants the flexibility of being in private practice without the challenges of running a small business.      

 

**Must be licensed to practice independently in California (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, or PhD)**

Wellness Specialist

Location: Los Angeles County

Compensation: $20/hr & up

 

This position is a part-time ( minimum 4 hours per week, maximum 20 hours per week) Independent Contractor (1099) position.


Start Date: This will be contingent upon the group start date.

 

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

In response to the current mental health crisis, we are expanding our therapeutic services to include skills-training groups focused on an array of real life topics.  Topics for groups include communication skills, managing anxiety, making friends, dating, etc.  These groups are aimed at helping participants live more fulfilling lives during the pandemic.  

The Wellness Specialist is responsible for administering a skills-based training curriculum to a group of participants on a variety of mental-health related topics.  Groups will be held in a series of 6-week modules.  The Wellness Specialist will guide and motivate group participants through various group discussions of related topics and foster the growth and development of all group participants.  The Wellness Specialist will create and maintain a safe and supportive therapeutic space for participants.  In addition, the Wellness Specialist will spend a small amount of time each week promoting groups, responding to potential participants, and creating marketing materials for groups.  

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to identify clinical risks and respond appropriately. Maintain standards of confidentiality (HIPAA).

  • Maintain a positive, respectful and collaborative manner. 

  • Maintain good communications to ensure others have necessary information.

  • Sensitivity to working with culturally diverse populations. 

  • Demonstrate great compassion to wanting to help others

  • Good organizational, communication, verbal/written skills and time management skills.

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Ability to set limits and maintain a therapeutic environment.  ations and use non-violent discipline techniques

  • Able to develop and rebuild trust

  • Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, including dealing with uncooperative group members

  • Able to identify successes, challenges, and barriers impacting the completion of goals for group members

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, social services, public administration, public health or related field ( or combination of education and experience will be considered, totaling 2 year years)

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

  • Basic Microsoft operating system navigation, including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Basic understanding of Zoom Application
